Under the direction of Jennifer Moon, “The Magnetics” from Mayfield S.S. consists of students in grades 10, 11 and 12. We rehearse everyday for 30 minutes all year long, exploring the challenges and complexities of choral vocal jazz music. By the end of this course, the students have a unique bond not often found in other high school courses, due to their drive, determination and team work. This arrangement of Treat You Better came about after Mrs. Moon had a brain wave on feel, tempo and harmonic material. It was very important to capture the true longing which one can have at any age when faced with unrequited love! After discussion, two grade 11 students in the course took the ideas and ran with them, creating a truly magical arrangement in only 6 days!!! Mrs. Moon couldn’t be prouder of you all!
